Building empathy and equity, one classroom at a time
At The Azadi Project, we believe that lasting change begins early, in classrooms, through honest conversations that challenge harmful norms and cultivate empathy.
This year, through our Gender Sensitization in Classrooms (GSC) program, we worked closely with students from government schools across New Delhi to:
- Address gender-based bullying
- Promote inclusivity and empathy
- Encourage responsible, values-based citizenship
Our sessions use participatory methods — stories, real-life scenarios, and games — to create safe spaces where young minds can reflect, unlearn, and grow.
It’s been heartening to witness students ask bold questions, speak up with confidence, and show solidarity with one another. With the support of our partners at Libra Philanthropies, we’re proud of the seeds of change taking root — one student, one classroom at a time.
