The Azadi Project

Mental Healthcare and Psychosocial Support

For many displaced and migrant women, trauma is layered—shaped by conflict, unsafe journeys, poverty, and daily uncertainty. At our center, we support over 100 participants, including women from migrant communities and young girls, through a structured system of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).

Our model includes:

  • Group therapy creates space for collective reflection, healing, and shared strength.
  • One-on-one counseling that offers privacy and personal support for individual needs.
  • Referrals and connecting with psychiatrists and psychologists for participants with more severe mental health conditions.
  • Community building activities, including outings, movie screenings, and celebrating festivals, among others, that bring the women together and provides them the space to relax.

This support helps participants begin the long process of healing, often after years of silence. For many, it is the first time their stories are heard—and their pain taken seriously.

Because healing, like dignity, should never be a privilege.
